I’m writing a book called “In My Head” based somewhat on experiences that I have lived through in my life. If you follow my blog you can expect to see some similarities.
I expect to be done writing sometime toward the end of 2021 (hopefully! I’m not going to rush it though).
In the novel, you follow the narrator Craig through high school all the way up until his late 20s as he aspires to be a successful musician in Nashville, TN. Craig experiences a high stress childhood that leaves him with some emotional baggage, and after a tough breakup starts to experience something strange.
He has a little guy living in his head, that has a complete mind of his own and as Craig would say, “He’s a total douche canoe.”
The Little Guy distracts, interacts, insults, and is overall a sarcastic comic relief for the story. The book is a bit different than most novels in that since the narrator of the story has a little guy living in his head, there will sometimes be two lines of narration happening at the same time, making for an interesting reading experience.
Craig aspires to have the greatest rock band that ever existed, in an era where rock bands lack the popularity that they used to have. I’d eventually love to pitch this story as a music heavy series, and have already worked on writing the title track. I recorded a quick acoustic video for you to check out.
